★ our story ★

i've been making art and creating as long as i can remember but i decided to open my own lil shop during the first covid-19 lockdown in the UK in 2020. i started out as "totes by flynn" on depop selling hand-embroidered items such as totebags!

i started to experiment with polymer clay and changed the name to sakura clay as i've always loved sakura trees! i also moved over to etsy!

that stuck for a while but then i changed it to shroom designs as i wanted to branch out of just clay pieces! and then i decided etsy was simply taking too much money in fees and i wanted my own space so i started up the website you see today! the final name change to silly seal happened in 2025 to better reflect myself, my art + my interests (seals are my no. 1 special interest).

since the beginning i've experimented with different art mediums + styles and am still very much experimenting! i love learning new skills (thanks adhd) and creating pieces that make me happy <3

hi! my name is flynn ꒰they/she꒱and i'm the owner (and only "employee") of silly seal! 🦭 i'm 28 years old, born in ireland but live in the uk with my parents + two kitties (harry + tilly). here's some fun facts about me:

★ i'm asexual + identify as a demi-girl

★ i'm disabled, chronically ill + neurodivergent

★ i was diagnosed with adhd in 2025 and am being assessed for autism (hopefully this year)

★ i LOVE seals !! they've been my special interest since i was very young! i also have a masters degree in marine science!

★ i love blindboxes, trinkets, fidget toys, junk journalling

★ i also sometimes stream on twitch (@flynntheseal)
